SEO Chat just publised an article about how to make your optimized site sell better. This topic is in fact one of my pet peeves, cause what is the point of driving tons and tons of traffic from search engines if the traffic doesn’t convert into sales?
Priority number one when creating content for a page or a site must always be quality content that is capable of converting visitors into customers. Then think about SEO.
In his article, SEO for organic search does not equal sales, Clint touches upon a few important points, however, I feel it’s a bit superficial and simplified, especially after having read Marketing Sherpa’s “Landing Page Handbook: How to Raise Conversions - Data & Design Guidelines.”
However, I think his main point is to treat your web site as a sales machine, and I couldn’t agree more. Selling pages must have a clear message and a clear call to action. Don’t confuse your visitors with all kinds of details about your product on that page, but rather, IF needed, supply links to supporting pages.
