Last week I was approached by one of the biggest newspapers in Norway, BT.no about an interview about search engine marketing. The reporter and photographer dropped by our offices on monday and the article got published today.
I gave them a brief into about SEO/SEM and then showed them a few SERPS. Then the reporter asked me about black hat SEO, so I showed them a few examples on cloaking and redirects, and they seemed amazed at how you can actually manipulate the search results that way.
So initially, her approach was now the “bad guys” in the industry - the scandals and the controversy surrounding these techniques. Hardly a good approach for a report on SEM for the very first time. But I guess, as usual, scandals sells.
The article was thankfully toned down, and the result was a pretty good, and surprisingly accurate one, about how you can get great results on your bottom line via search engine optimization and PPC.
And I received our first request 30 minutes after I came down to the office this morning. The article, directly translated meaning Making Mad Money Off the Internet, was unfortunately published in Norwegian only. Oh, and there’s a pretty bad picture of me. Feel free to point and laugh.

hei hei Sverre,
Good to see a fellow Norwegian getting some press coverage for SEO in Norway. I am working as a Search Manager for a agency in London and I have been puzzled by how slow Norway has been to tap into this gold mine of online marketing. Glad to see them opening their eyes!
Like your site, looks very good and you have some great content.
If you are every in London let me know, love to meet up and talk SEO…
