Paid Search Engine Optimization Tools (General)

  • Web Position Gold - This is the first SEO tool I got, and I still use it on a daily basis. I really love this program.
  • WebCEO - A really nice collection of various SEO tools, stats and more. Definitely worth checking out!
  • Webmaster Toolkit

Link Checking Tools

Web Site Statistics

  • WebCEO - Somewhat similar to WebPositionGold and has stats built in. This is an awesome program!
  • Omniture SiteCatalyst - Very advanced, Incredibly good. I simply love this tool.
  • ClickTracks - Also pretty advanced - Highly recommended.
  • DeepMetrix LiveSTATS - Powerful and advanced - Recommended.
  • StatCounter - Free and Paid version. Pretty decent
  • AddFreeStats - Doesn’t look too bad. No personal experience.
  • ActiveMeter - Really Great and Free, that is If you have less than 150 pageloads a month. I signed up, installed the code, and I feel ripped off. Not because I have to pay, but they market it as COMPLETELY free. They have different upgrade options, though. Up to 50,000 pageloads. What are you gonna do when you get twenty times that number - or even more? Seriously, though - This program is great.
  • AWStats - Great, free and web based
  • FreeStats - Seems to be really great, free(but with ads) and web based.
  • Webalizer - Free, thank God, and absolutely horrible.

This is an interesting thread http://www.threadwatch.org/node/4091 about sites ripping off content and then outranking the original author. Not too sure what you can do to protect yourself from this, but as you start publishing more and more content I think one will become a target for people to rip off content from.
